One area that has seen significant growth for Women With Waders in recent years is the maintenance and clearance of large bodies of water. This year we have maintained some very large ponds and lakes.
Often these large bodies of water have been neglected and due to the planting of invasive aquatic plants such as bull rushes, they have then become very overgrown. It is vitally important that these expanses of water are maintained as they soon become an overgrown odorous bog.
This year we've invested in some large equipment so we can de-sludge these large bodies of water without the use of mechanical diggers etc. This causes less disruption to the wildlife and the general pond habitat.
Often literally tons of aquatic plants are removed from small areas. It is usually more practical to tip this on site but we can arrange for all debris to be taken off your site.
Each job is different so a site survey must be undertaken.

Mrs Hunt from near Leighton Buzzard contacted us after finding our website. She had a small lake/large pond in desperate need of some serious maintenance.
This is what she wrote on our feedback form:
- “I can”t believe how little disruption the works caused. I was expecting far more mess, especially in this weather - it”s amazing how clean and tidy you can make such a dirty job”
- “I am so impressed by your speed, care taken, knowledge and the end product.
- “My pond is fab – thank you so much – just can't wait to see what happens in the Spring when things start to come alive”.
