Examples and Testimonials

We have carried out work on many different ponds, from small garden ponds to larger ponds in the grounds of commercial premises. During this time we have gained many satisfied customers, who have been delighted with the end result.

Domestic garden pond cleaning:

Mr Galley contacted us in December 2007 after seeing our advert in The Listing, a Parish Magazine covering the Royston Villages. He then visited our web site to read all about us.

A visit was arranged and here is what Mr Galley wanted:

The pond, measuring 30ft x 10ft needed a complete clean out. The last time it was done was over 20 years ago.
The Iris and Water Lilys were very overgrown and were in desperate need of splitting and repotting.
There was 18 inches of sludge in the bottom of the pond, this needed removing for the sake of the fish.
Many of the surrounding cobbles had fallen into the pond or had broken up, this needed sorting out.

The quote was accepted and work took place in February 2008. Here’s what they had to say after the job was completed:

"We would like to express our thanks to you and your colleagues for the excellent maintenance work done on our pond. It is a large pond and had not been cleared for 20 years therefore there was a lot of work to be done. Thank you for replanting and a job well done."

Domestic garden pond refurbishment:

Mrs Pender contacted us in July 2007 after seeing out advert in the Weston Parish magazine. We arranged a visit to take a look.

The pond was in a poor state of repair, the liner was damaged and there was very little water in the pond only sludge, weeds and some hidden Aquatic Plants. The pond required a total refurbishment.

Here's what we did:

Pumped out any water from the pond
Removed the weeds & Aquatics Plants
Removed all the sludge by hand
Removed the old liner and layers of old plastic bags underneath it
Re-shaped the pond & lined it with sand & underlay
Installed the new Butyl rubber pond liner
Finished off the edges and refilled the pond with tap water

As you can see from the pictures the pond looks very different and the still water reflects the surrounding trees.

We saved the Aquatic Plants, which we replanted, and once these start to grown the pond edges will be softened and disguised.

A customer from Heydon also found our advert in 'The Listing'.

The customer had a pond that hadn't been maintained for over 20 years and was full of silt and debris. During our initial visit we also found that the lining of this large pond had become perished and torn.

Our first step was to clean the pond out, and after this it was necessary for us to replace the old perished liner with a new one.

After many back breaking hours the old liner was removed and with help from the manufacturer, our team laid the new liner, which weighed half a ton!

As a result of our efforts, the pond was transformed and the customer and his fish were very happy!

Dunkirk Farm - Hertford: The customer found our web site by searching on Google, contacted us and said we were just what he'd being searching for.

We visited his pond and found a very neglected overgrown swamp. A price was given and accepted.

We were on site for three days, during which time and the pond was totally transformed.

We have been back since to carry out more planting, including the addition of some water Lilys in the summer of 2008. Further visits will be made to carry out general maintenance.

Construction:

Mr and Mrs Clark of Stevenage: We were approached by Arch Gardening to quote for a total re-design of two adjacent gardens - to make them into one.

A garden designer had done the plans, which included a pond.

After many meetings a final plan was chosen and a quote given. The quote was accepted and work started in April - in the snow.

It took four weeks and Mr and Mrs Clark are delighted.
